Thoroughly Modern Millie
My job on Millie started on the same day I left Joseph. Same company, same time, different designer. I do have to say, from beginning to end, it was a much more pleasant experience. But I won't go into details!

My job on this show was solely as programmer. No design work, no plots, no paperwork. The problem came with the fact that no matter what we did, the director just wanted more and more and more light. The stage was so bright, it was literally painful on the eyes, but the designer just claimed he couldn't see, so he wanted even more light. No amount of explanation would get him to believe that the problem wasn't that it wasn't bright enough, but that it was TOO bright. Of course you can't see the faces when there's so much light on stage, the set looks like it's cooking!
