The hotel in Newcastle was right in the city center, a perfect location. I arrived at the front desk only to find that my name was not on the list. I had been forgotten (I had missed the signup list for this city, and the error was not noticed when the hotels were booked). So I didn't have a room. They managed to work one in for me, so I got my own room for the week. I figured that would be pretty cool. However the room was tiny. I could not have imagined two people in a room this size, yet that is what everyone had. I was very glad to have my own!
Newcastle is like England's version of New Orleans. It is a constant party from sun-up to sun-up. It's a college town, so most of the partiers are younger. It's nuts, the streets all over the entire downtown area are bustling all night, sometimes making it difficult to sleep! But who wants to sleep in a place like this? I made it out on two nights. The first night I went out with one other guy, and we hit about 5 bars and clubs. That night was a blast, we met so many people. The next time I went out kind of sucked. We went to this club on a boat which was supposed to be like "the place to go." But I thought the music was horrible, two of the people I went with disappeared to do their little lust thing, and I couldn't shake this 40 year old woman who kept eyeing me (ugh!). So I left with one of the others I went with and we returned to the hotel bar, where a huge group was hanging out.
Not a whole lot else to say about Newcastle. I was kind of resting up for the next two weeks, sure to be big. After load out, we left straight from the arena on a very long bus trip to London, England.
