Lille. Ugh, where do I start? It's in France. Yep. France. I'm just not a big fan of France...too many French people. The hotel was exactly like the one last week (same chain), and was in the middle of nowhere. There was a small shopping center about a half-hour's walk, but that's about it. We had the rest of monday off here, and I took it as a day off. I took a nap, visited some people in the bar, then went to bed!
Now, I have been to Lille before, so I knew what to expect in this building. SMALLNESS. My God this place is so tiny. The ice floor is almost half the size it usually is (we went from 147' to 85'), meaning we crunched as much of the show as we could into half the space. This made load-in extremely difficult, as there was barely room to fit any of the crates. The locals weren't much help either when it came to lifting. I don't think they could lift their own soda can if they had too. I mean there were two of our people on one end of the truss while unstacking it, and four of them, and the four of them could barely hold it while the two of us held all the weight on the other end. They were a little better at performing general tasks, not including when one of them dropped a $7000 moving light he was not supposed to be touching in the first place, smashing it's mirror.
I really don't have anything else to say for Lille. It was really just a city for relaxing and doing nothing, saving myself up for two and a half weeks in a more exciting place, Paris, France.
